Bangalore - Day 2

Enjoyed a morning warm shower, for some reason they were only hot in the morning. Walked around the market near to the hotel as that is the day it is the biggest. Compared to MG road, this was more familiar as usual stalls of religious items, flowers, stationary, sweets etc. It was also accompanied by the usual being stared at because of our strange appearance and taking sneaky pictures of us. Went to the section on the market set up in a big warehouse with a maze like basement of hundreds of stalls.

After this we went back to MG road to do some more shopping and went to a fancy restaurant on the 13th floor of a complex to complete the whole westernised weekend experience. I had alloo ghobi with naan which was very spicy but tasty. We could see right across the city from our table on the balcony, eagles and kites flew by as these are common in the area and soft jazz played in the background. This was an upper class restaurant but my food only came to £3.40 but went up to £5.60 as they put on half a dozen service charges. This could have bought be over 5 days worth of meals in Alangayam, such a stark contrast between rich and poor areas.

Went back to the hotel via Hard Rock Cafe which was amazing, my aim is to go to one in every city I visit and get the hurricane glass (like in Prague). Got the bus home in the evening to Alangayam, buses are the best mode of transport here and the cheapest, a 5 hour journey with 3 buses cost £1.12.

View from restaurant, Bangalore has lots of garden areas for one of the biggest cities. There is even a sign in one saying the oxygen is free :P (poor translation I hope)
