Pondicherry - Day 3 and home

Spent the day in Pondicherry with Megan and Pav. We got the bus in for 10p from Auroville! Visited the local park and the "beach" (thin strip of sand with black rocks) with the Ghandi statue. After went to the French quarter which remains from when the French occupied the area. Visited the founder of the Matrimander's grave which is full of lots of species of flowers and daily petal arrangements on the tomb. Got a motor boat out the the mouth of the river and back where there is a nice beach area where you can eat and relax, would have been better in the hotter weather. Visited Ganesh temple at 4.30 pm as an elephant comes to visit and you can give him money to bless you by touching you with his trunk. It was one of the most amazing experiences of my life to be that close to such a beautiful animal and I will never forget it. Back to the hotel for dinner, paneer butter masala yumminess, and watching Ice Age 3 with other group. Early start tomorrow to do some shopping, buying lots of pooffy pants as great for travelling and easy to wash/pack. After this, 10 hour journey back using several buses to home sweet home, Alangayam.
